- Tarin and Stray are walking through the forest park toward the area where the mysterious nightmares have been appearing to meet up with the other “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes”.
- En route, they spot the leader of the Dick Brigade “Pranky” hiding behind a tree and getting ready to cast a spell in their direction.
- Tarin swings his sharp sword in the direction of Pranky who jumps back dodging the dangerous blow.
- Stray quickly jumps to action, moments before Sparky casts his spell, using thaumaturgy coupled with threatening remarks of monsters in the dark to successfully scare Pranky, who runs off into the forest.
- As Tarin and Stray approach the area, Mick and Salmon emerge from the abandoned house in a screaming panic. Shortly after, Emmet wearing a terrifying sleeping mask with cyan-glowing eyes emerges.
- Tarin’s extreme confidence when facing the terrifying visage of Emmet inspires the rest of the “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes”. to be brave and breaks the magical spell causing them to be frightened.
- The team relates information about
- Defeating the puppet-master nightmare
- Pranky’s ambush attempt
- Sid’s Kids’ Camp
- The mask is one piece of Serenity’s Sleepytime Mask
- The mask has a curse, on top of its normal powers
- After rooting around for the remaining Sleepytime items, with no luck they decide it’s probably best to hunker down for the night in the abandoned house and investigate tomorrow.
- While Tarin and Salmon are out getting food for their sleep-over, Pranky uses a wand to summon a monstrous creature with three tree trunk-sized legs, three muscular arms with pincers, eyeballs in the armpits, and a giant mouth facing directly up towards the moonlight, lined with razor-sharp teeth. (A Xorn)
- Working together they come up with a plan to redirect this terrifying creature away, Salmon casts the Command through the keyhole and sends the monster down the street toward the collectibles store. Then Salmon and Tarin sneak back to the mansion, and everyone hunkers down, tipping off the town guard that Xorn burrowed into the collectibles shop. Four guards rush into the collectibles shop and defeat the Xorn, with one casualty.
- In the morning the party investigates the origin of the mask at Clotho’s Clothing store. The charming sandy blond store clerk, “Talus Thorngale” informs the group that they bought just that mask at Serenity’s Estate Sale in town, but the Saboneek Trading Group bought most of the rest of the stuff, they are in Ostverk. Salmon might know someone who does work for Saboneek by the name of “Torgga Brawnanvil”.
- Stray and Tarin visit the temple, where Luscious Milfoy (Prawny’s mom) works. She is likely the only person in town that can remove the curse on the mask. Luscious dislikes all of the “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” and is difficult to convince, but Tarin inspires Stray to spin a story that this mask is causing her son great discomfort and she would be helping him and his fear of monsters. She agrees, pays for the service and supplies and seems to have removed the curse based on Tarin’s close observation.
- It’s realized that Ostverk is somewhat close to Sid’s Kids’ Camp, and so the plan is to attend camp, and possibly sneak off to locate the remaining items in Serenity’s Sleepytime Set.
- Salmon convinces her parents to pay the gold for her and all of her friends to attend Sid’s Kids’ Camp! The caravan leaves tomorrow!
The camp sounds totally awesome from the flyer…. but…. you know that outside of the camp’s perimeter, there are giant spiders, rats, goblins, and other creepy stuff. There is also a legend that the lake at the campsite may have a lake monster… But the most obvious threat will be the Dick Brigade, who will be there in full force and you know they are going to be trouble for all “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes” “Echoes”.…
