- In the pleasant trade and tourist town of Verbobonc.
- There have been strange sightings, monsters, and random illusions witnessed down near the Old House of Prince Jim (G1), just after midnight. Weird stuff… The whole city is a buzz, most regular folks are too scared to leave their homes, hopeful that the town guard can resolve the matter. But you all are skeptical. It’s turning out to be a huge problem because one of your parents owns the Hammer and Crab near the midnight mysteries, and business is awful because everyone is afraid to go near it.
- A group of kids, ages 12-14 (Salmon, Mick, and Emmet) are hanging out at their usual haunt, the soda shop called Cat’s Meow in the town of Verbobonc by the docks.
- The kids heard “The Dick Brigade” talking about sneaking out tonight to try and see the weird stuff.
- The kids want to get there early, to get a good seat. They trick their parents into believing they went to each other’s houses for dinner and head towards where the weird stuff has been happening but have to lose a tail that is following Salmon.
- The kids break into an abandoned house for a good view of the midnight mystery.
- They learn of a reward for stopping the weird midnight occurrences and proving how you solved it.
- Encounter with a shiny purple bug-man in the house with cyan glowing eyes. Mick Dagger defeated it by stabbing it with his sword. Bug fizzles into dust and disappears.
- The kids climb on the roof to see what happens at midnight.
- Mick saw a cyan flash inside a clothing shop just before the animated marionettes appeared and started grasping people.
- All slide off the roof to shoot cyan marionette glyphs to destroy them.
- Break into the clothing store to find the flash. Found a sleeping mask and bought it… left 10gp for the sale of it.
